Nick Barber

Biography

Nick Barber is a brand strategist and creative business leader based in Ticino, Switzerland. After graduating from Salford University with a BA (hons) in Fashion, Nick began his design career in 1998 with the technical outerwear manufacturer Henri Lloyd before progressing to product leadership positions with notable sports and lifestyle brands including Umbro, Puma and Timberland. In his current role as the Global Product Director at icebreaker, he is responsible for guiding the team to create outdoor performance collections using ethically sourced, natural fibres with the goal of delivering unrivalled comfort whilst eliminating unnecessary plastic from products. Nick is committed to sustainable design and crafting products which create value for brands and their communities whilst remaining environmentally responsible. At Timberland, he led a cross-functional team to re-think the product lifecycle and introduced the Timberloop™ platform which won the Ellen MacArthur Foundation Award for Circular Economy at the 2022 CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Nick enjoys road cycling, running, hiking, and snowboarding during his spare time. His passion for these activities continues to fuel his inspiration for creating high-performing, responsibly designed products.
