Biography
Thami Schweichler is an award winning social entrepreneur and designer based in Amsterdam, known for his commitment to sustainable business and social innovation. As the founder of United Repair Centre (URC), created in partnership with Patagonia and the Amsterdam Economic Board, Thami leads a pioneering B2B repair initiative that helps clothing brands prioritize clothing repair and social inclusion. Before URC, he co-founded the award-winning Makers Unite, which integrates refugees into the workforce in the Netherlands and Turkey, earning global recognition for its impact.
A TEDx speaker, Thami's expertise is rooted in product design, with education from the University of Sao Paulo, ENSCI-Les Ateliers in France, and Santa Clara University in the USA. His social venture journey began in Kenya, where he co-developed Kibo Africa, delivering innovative moto-taxi solutions. Thami’s work centers on building impactful collaborations for social and environmental change.
