🥳 Parties in Munich: After the party is before the party, right? If the ISPO parties aren't enough for you, then why not make Munich unsafe? Have a drink in one of the numerous bars in Maxvorstadt or in a pub in Giesing or dance the night away in one of the trendy clubs! A little tip: On "gone out" you can discover everything that's going on in the city during the day.
Is your diary neat, your suitcase packed and your laptop charged? Then here are 3 things you shouldn't forget: pocket gadgets, time and sharp ears.
✅ Don't forget: There are a few important essentials besides your laptop that you can stow well in your handbag, backpack or trouser pocket. Here's a little checklist for you:
✔️ Chewing gum so you don't scare off business customers or flirts at the bar.
✔️ A change of shirt so that you can test the action-packed experiences and still stay fresh.
✔️ Water, especially a bottle to refill.
✔️ Powerbank so that your cell phone doesn't run out of juice.
✔️ Business cards or a QR code directly to your LinkedIn profile.
✅ Take your time: Plan enough time to take in everything ISPO Munich has to offer. In addition to the exhibitors, numerous workshops and lectures, there is also plenty to try out and experience for yourself. For example, stop by the Pickel & Padel Village and take the padel into your own hands or play a round of pickleball. The Sustainability Hub is also home to the Material Lab interactive offers await you.
✅ Psst, prick up your ears: The toilets on the exhibition grounds have seen and experienced a lot. It's the real place-to-be, especially during the ISPO parties ;)
No, but really: The best insights can be found where you probably last suspect it, so always prick up your ears. The bar will also do, don't worry.
The trade show is cool. But so is Munich! So if you're already there, enjoy it properly. Here are 13 must-dos that you should experience in Munich. Have fun choosing, because they're all good.
1. Eisbach wave: Surfing in the middle of the city? Yep, that's right. In the heart of Munich, you'll find a real hotspot for surfers and, of course, spectators. It's known worldwide and has been surfable for 40 years: The river wave at the southern entrance to the English Garden is a must-see.
2. Run for Street Art: Munich has so many colorful works of art, murals and graffiti scraps to offer in its streets. What better way to get to know Munich's street art than on a relaxed run? Suuunto has two routes that will show you exactly where to go.
3. curling: You should also give this Bavarian classic a try. Whether at the Nockherberg or in the Hirschgartenin winter, you'll find curling rinks everywhere in Munich for a sociable game. So, grab your colleagues, a stick and ideally a hot drink and off you go. Equipment is available on site at almost all rinks.
4. Goose somewhere else: Looks like a witch's house and is at least as cozy. The popular cultural café with its location in Giesing may not be completely somewhere else, but it is definitely something completely different. With a cozy jacket and a mulled wine in hand, the campfire creates a cozy outdoor feeling.
5. Isartrails: Grab a mountain bike and do something crazy. For example, on a wild tour along the Isartrails. Right through the city, directly along the Isar. But beware: it's not really officially permitted, so the adventure is at your own risk.
6. Dirtpark Oberwiesenfeld: More bike action? Then drop by the dirt park! Who knows, maybe you'll be lucky enough to watch bike artists perform some impressive tricks or you can get on your bike yourself.
7. Jochen Schweizer Arena: There's something for all adrenaline junkies in the south of Munich. If the Eisbach wave is too cold for surfing, or if you prefer to get on your board in front of a smaller audience, you can surf in the warm water here. Or would you prefer to take to the air instead of the water? Then try bodyflying here.
8. Müller'sches Volksbad: How about a sauna session to sweat out the stress of the trade fair? Or a refreshing dip in the water? Among all the pools in Munich, the indoor pool at Ludwigsbrücke stands out in particular. The Volksbad has been enchanting visitors with its impressive Art Nouveau style since 1901.
9. Running in the English Garden: From the Altstadtring to the west bank of the Isar, the English Garden stretches over 375 hectares and is ideal for an autumn run. And there are so many beautiful routes to choose from!
10. BRB excursion: There are some natural gems waiting for you in the south of Munich, such as Lake Tegernsee or Lake Schliersee. And you don't even need a car, because you can reach these beautiful spots quickly and comfortably with the Bayerische Regiobahn.
11. Globetrotter at the Isartor: How about a little shopping tour? Visit the huge store of our partner Globetrotter, for example. The store is 5,560 m² an experience in itself. Take a look at the website, where numerous workshops, expert panels and lectures take place every year.
12. Ryzon Store: Also worth a visit is the new concept store from Ryzon, the 2019 ISPO Brandnew winner. The premium sportswear manufacturer has become famous above all because Jonas Deichmann completed his triathlon around the world in Ryzon clothing.
13. Tollwood: Or would you prefer something more relaxed and cultural after all that sport? Then hop from sports festival to cultural festival and visit the Wintertollwood on the Theresienwiese. Between numerous international food booths, Feuerzangenbowle and handicrafts, there are also many events, concerts and performances that are well worth a visit.
