The European Fashion Award FASH 2020 honours the greatest talents in the fashion industry. This year there is a special prize in the workwear category. A total of 5,000 euros in prize money and extensive support await the winners. Application is possible until end of April.

Der europaweit ausgeschriebene European Fashion Award FASH 2019 richtet sich an Designstudenten und Absolventen und ist kostenfrei.
The European Fashion Award FASH 2019 is open to design students and graduates throughout Europe and is free of charge.

Even in times of the corona crisis, the European Fashion Award FASH 2020 is looking for talented people in the fashion industry. The prize is endowed with 5000 euros. In addition, up to 20 participants receive support in the form of portfolio consulting, applicant training and workshops with top-class experts.

A new feature is the special Workwear Award, which is sponsored by Engelbert Strauss. "Workwear is textile engineering, we use the most modern materials and the latest processing technologies. This is an exciting field for young people in design," says Henning Strauss.

In addition to designers, students and people with a degree (acquired on or after May 1, 2019) from the fields of garment technology, product development or design engineering can also apply for the special prize.

Joachim Schirrmacher, Director of the Foundation of the German Apparel Industry (SDBI), is pleased to have been able to win Engelbert Strauss for the cooperation: "The company stands for an exemplary process of renewal that can have an impact on the entire industry.

Registration Deadline on 27 April

Students as well as Bachelor and Master graduates from all design disciplines can apply with a portfolio of previous projects and a letter of motivation as a PDF file. The application for the special Workwear Award also requires a design drawing.

The closing date for registration is April 27,2020, deadline for application documents is May 3, 2020.

The event will be held as needed to meet the necessities of the corona pandemic. Thus a purely digital realisation of the event is also possible. Messe München, which has been supporting the work of SDBI pro bono since 1996, is in constant contact with the health authorities, follows their recommendations and guidelines as well as the ones of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Robert Koch Institute.

Probably at the beginning of May, it will be decided whether the workshops and/or the award ceremony can take place in Berlin. Current information can be found on the official homepage of the European Fashion Award FASH 2020.
